So, I'm thinking of going back to school. Well, more than "thinking" about it. I plan on it, I just gotta DO it.
Because I work for an institution of higher learning, I get a lot of nice benefits. One being that after 1 year of work, you are eligible for 5 free credit hours per semester. If I do not take advantage of this, I am really stupid. Especially in light of the fact that I've found the perfect masters program for me.
It is called a Masters of Technical and Professional Communications. I haven't talked to any professors from the program yet, but a fellow co-worker is taking this program and told me all about it. But, I should be able to tailor it to my career goals by making the elective portion of the program geared toward design or web work.
The best part is that I will get my masters degree and only have to pay about $2,000 out of my own pocket for it. How amazing is that. Then if I even out my debt between my two degrees, that will seem normal.
AND to top it all off, Patrick is pretty sure he's going to take advantage of the 50% discounted tuition available for spouses of university employees.
So, that is a big deal on more than one level. :)

Okay, I've got the outward appearance up and running! Now, I just need to figure out how to make it look the same when viewing a blog entry page by page (the permalink thing, I think....)
Very complicated crap. I don't know HOW the hell I made my page work before... I did it in dreamweaver last time, but this time I picked a "blank" blogger template and edited the code.
Do you like my little draaaawrings???DO YOU??? Are you looking at my bum? YOU BUM LOOKER!

So, I FINALLY updated my links on the sidebar of this blog. Jeope's doesn't work, so I have to go back and fix that here in a minute.
I think that Devon & Mel have given me some inspiration to update my blog look. I used to update the look all the time, but just stopped because I stopped having so much freakin' spare time at work (ah, boohoo!)...
Anyways, I'm going to MAKE time to goof off, by god!
Anywho, just a warning. If you see my blog "naked" in the next couple of days, It is going through transitions. :)

I went to see The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe again this weekend :) I wanted to see it one more time on the big screen because it was just one of those "big screen is best" movies. Anyways, I saw a trailer for an upcoming M. Night Shyamalan movie. I hate, HATE how he seems so egotistical (his name is always HUGE on the credits). But, he makes pretty good movies. You should check out the trailer. I'll be looking forward to this one.

So, finally, the fruits of my extra labor are seen in print. Seeing as how I've had several folks I know get married recently and/or announced their engagement or wedding plans, I thought I would offer this up.
I worked on The Alabama Marriage Handbook as a freelance job and quite enjoyed the job. The handbook is a 44 page guide for newly wed couples in Alabama and will actually be handed out with a marriage license in the state. I'm pretty excited about seeing these printed! On the 19th, the first lady & governor of Alabama present this book and will renew their own wedding vows.
If you would like to see all 44 pages and do all of the "excercises" in the book, you can download the PDF from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System Web site: Click here to download the PDF.
For those of you who are satisfied with a little peak, there is an image below and, as always, you can click on it to see it larger.
Wow, have I been busy or what?
After tons & tons of deadlines and hard work, I took a niiiice looong weekend. friday - tuesday. Now, I am back and wishing I could be gone longer :)
Valentines Day was nice. We were going to celebrate a little early and beat the crowd by going to a nice, Greek resteraunt about 35 miles away, but we got all the way over there and they were closed on MONDAYS. Wierd, huh!?
Mary wanted a little lamb! But, we went to Johnny Carino's instead. Which was excellent as well.
Then, yesterday we exchanged gifts. Patrick got me some white gold earrings, a silver charm bracelet, 2 charms, 3 books, and a box of Choxie (I heart target). It was all so great! One of the books was a photography book of kitten & cats in Greece. Beautiful photos. The other two books were Taschen books from their "icons" series that I have been collecting. They have some really awesome imagery in them. The charms are really cool too - one is the Eiffel tower and the other is a kitten with a ball of yarn.
I got him a shirt, a pair of pants, a watch, Frantic on DVD, Penn & Teller's Bullshit Season 2,...and it seems like I'm forgetting something...
Anyways, it was nice. But, lucky for me, Valentines day is just a bonus because he's nice like that ALL the time. :)
I will have something more interesting to blog about soon. I swear.... well, I hope!
